The Barcelona History Atlas holds a mirror up to the city toexamine its times and its spaces. It is structured in three parts. The first tours the connections and continuities in Barcelona s historical trajectory, addressing the options and the contradictions of its elites and majorities. Each chapter has a general text that enables us to examine, simultaneously, exhibits from the Museum s collections, a cartographic approach to the city s urban structure, the geopolitical vision of the time, a specialist s point of view on a decisive question of the period, and a look at contemporary landscapes. The second part deals with strategic issues of 20th-century Barcelona. The third, shows the new network organisation of the Barcelona History Museum, a new museum for citizens, with 55 exhibition rooms located at 19 heritage sites all around the city.
